I was an art major in high school and studied several different mediums, concentrating mostly on pencil, charcoal, pen & ink and photography. Once graduating I bought a ceramic business and enjoyed working with clay very much. I then got married and took several years off from art building a life with my husband and daughter.
In 2009 a friend of mine introduced me to Marilyn Kruger, a highly talented and successful oil painter. Since taking instruction from her I have come to love oil painting and hope to continue painting for many years. Oils have an immense spectrum of versatility and can be executed with the speed that keeps me driven when creating a piece.
My artwork has been accepted into several local juried shows, including those by Heartland Art Gallery, where I am a member. I recently won the prestigious Hoosier Women Artist Competition put on by the Lt. Governor and a spot in the Ford Meter Box Calendar for 2012. I also won an Honorable Mention in the 2010 Honeywell Center Themed Art Competition. You can keep up to date on my Art Happenings if you 'LIKE' my Facebook page and catch my weekly Easel Reports.
